Yakiniku Party!
Hello everyone!
I’m Rhys Wedlock of the Foreign Languages Department.
How are you?
Last Friday my first and second year students had a yakiniku party in the English Lounge.
It was a lot of fun!
My first year students are going to Australia tomorrow for two months!
They could get a lot of advice from my second year students.
Next week I’ll write a blog about Australia!
See you soon!
Chinese study in Taiwan
Ni hao!(你好!)
I’m Rhys Wedlock of the Foreign Languages Department.
How are you?
I took my first year students to Taichung in Taiwan for one week’s Chinese study.
We all took Chinese lessons together,
and my students had a lot of man-to-man Chinese practice with Taiwanese students.
At lunchtime the Taiwanese students took us to buy local food,
and in the evening we enjoyed the night markets and shopping together.
My students became really good friends with the Taiwanese students.
We also had a really fun, interesting day sightseeing and experiencing Chinese culture.
We went to a paper factory and made paper goods, and we went on a beautiful ferry ride.
You can see more pictures here:

Many thanks to the staff and students of the Taichung Institute of Technology.
It was a wonderful experience!
Xie xie!(謝謝!)
College festival
Hello everyone!
I’m Rhys Wedlock of the Foreign Languages Department.
How’s it going?
Today it was preparation day for the college festival (2nd & 3rd November).
My first year and second year students are all together, and selling Australian meat pies.
Our pie shop is called “Rhysじいさんの空飛ぶパイ屋”!
Please come and visit us, but come early because the meat pies are usually sold out fast!
They’re yummy!!!
I hope to see you there!!!
Hotel inspection and table manners!
Hello everyone!
I’m Rhys Wedlock of the Foreign Languages Department.
How are you?
Every year my first year students go to an international hotel in Tokyo for an inspection and a table manners class.
This year we went to the Grand Hyatt Tokyo in Roppongi.
It’s a beautiful hotel!
We had q&a time with a graduate of my course, and it was really nice to see her again!
The staff were very friendly and the food was so delicious!
When I’m rich I want to stay there!!!
See you soon!

Australia
See you next time
Australia
Hello everyone!
See you next time!
Have a nice day(^o^)/
German Class
Hi everyone!
I’m Rhys Wedlock of the Foreign Languages Department.
Are you enjoying your summer holidays?
My students all study English and Chinese.
My second year students also study French or German!
In their last German class before the summer holidays, my German friend came.
My students introduced themselves in German, and he asked them questions about their families and their homes, etc.
It was fun and everyone could answer!!
My first year students are studying and enjoying life in Australia at the moment.
Soon I will post a student’s Australia blog!
See you soon!
Australia(^^)/
Hello everyone!
I’m Rhys Wedlock of the Foreign Languages Department.
How’s it going?
Last week I took my first year students to Australia.
I came back to Japan yesterday, but my students are staying in Melbourne for two months!
On the first day we went sightseeing in Sydney.
The weather was beautiful and we had a great time!
In the evening we flew to Melbourne and my students met their host families.
They were very friendly!
The next day my students had an English placement test and orientation.
We also went on a Melbourne city tour. It was very beautiful and interesting,
but cold because it’s winter in Australia!
Today they started taking English classes with students from all over the world.
I miss them but I’m excited that their English will get better!
Happy summer holidays everyone!!
English Games
Hello everyone!
I’m Rhys Wedlock of the Foreign Languages Department.
How’s it going?
Every Friday afternoon my first year students have a fun class called “English Games”.
There are two teachers (Robert from Australia and me from the UK).
We play a lot of different memory games, word games, speed games, etc.
Of course we have a no Japanese rule, so the students must speak a lot of English.
Last week we played a team gestures game.
It was a really exciting battle and the classroom became very hot!!!
I think the students could sleep well that night!
See you soon!
